Our Poipu Kauai vacation, Bird of Paradise has two master bedrooms on the second floor: one in the main house one in the detached bungalow separated from the main house by a breezeway on the lanai. The other two bedrooms (queen and twin) are on the first floor of the main house. The bedrooms do not share a wall and are not on top of another, resulting in total comfort and privacy at night.
The Bird of Paradise Kauai vacation rental home is one of the largest four-bedroom vacation home rentals in the Poipu Kai Beach Resort at Poipu Kai. With 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 2600 sq ft home, and 1500 sq ft of the second-floor lanai. The design of our home enables large family groups to stay together but at the same time maintain total privacy. The L shape of this vacation rental house maximizes the all-around views for the bungalow suite and the main house.
The large open living area (~1100 square feet) is on the second floor and is connected to the even larger lanai. You have your choice of eating inside or on the covered lanai to enjoy the views along with your meal. There is a gas grill on the lanai for quick lunches or dinners and the kitchen is very well equipped with table settings for up to 12 or more. The large master bedroom features a king-size bed, liquid crystal TV, DVD player, closets, teak furniture, and its own bathroom with dual sinks. The Bungalow Suite is detached from the main house on the lanai and has its own separate entrance and features a queen bed, its own bathroom, a kitchenette, and great views of the mountains and the coconut trees. All the bedrooms have their own cable TV, DVD players, and closets.
The Bird of Paradise Home is set up on two levels with very private bedrooms making it perfect for a large family or two small families with wireless internet throughout. All of the Poipu Kai Resort Amenities including the use of the resort swimming pool, hot tub, and eight soft and hard tennis courts for guests. You are only a five-minute walk away, through the lush green belts of the resort, from the Poipu and Shipwreck beaches and The Poipu Bay golf course, home of the PGA Grand Slam.
This two-story luxurious Poipu vacation rental home is built on the shoulders of the crater that erupted last in Kauai one million years ago. Therefore it sits high and has the best views of the majestic Pu’u Wanawana crater, Ha’upu mountain range, the Pacific ocean, rainbows, and sunrises
In winter you can look out from the lanai or the living room and sometimes see whales spouting off Shipwreck beach.
If you are planning on staying long, you can get by without a car if you desire because in our home you are within walking distance to excellent restaurants, shops, five-star hotels, the best golf on Kauai, and all the outdoor activities one could want, tennis, spa, and swimming.

” The Bird of Paradise Home was truly special. My wife and I rented this property for our honeymoon, and stayed there for nine days while we explored the island. The house was fully stocked with utensils, dishes, coffee, a Vitamix blender and pretty much everything else we needed such as sunscreen, soap and plenty of towels. The property is located in the heart of the Poipu area, so we walked to Shipwreck Beach, the Grand Hyatt and plenty of other places. We were also a short drive from lots of other great shopping and restaurants. The house also felt super homey; there were lots of nice touches that made it feel warm. Also, there were tons of useful insights in the renter’s guide that helped us figure out what to do over the course of the trip. The pool and lanai were amazing amenities with great views; we loved just hanging around the house! Evan also came by to offer lots of helpful insights about sightseeing and restaurants, which was great. Overall, we cannot say enough about our experience, and would strongly recommend this place for a getaway with friends and family. Even though it was just two of us, we would definitely consider booking this house again in the future because we enjoyed it so much.

Queen bedroom
First Floor Bedroom: This bedroom has a queen bed, a picture window looking out into the garden and the mountains, and has ample storage. It shares a first-floor bathroom with the second bedroom on the first floor.
Garden and landscape: Bird of Paradise rental home is located on the hillside of an old crater in the Poipu Kai Resort and looks over the eastern part of Poipu Kai. Two rows of coconut trees line up in the front-facing trade winds and give a great feeling of tropical paradise.
The colorful tropical flowers of the hillside and dozens of bird of paradise flowers greet you upon your arrival at this 4 bedroom 3.5 bath Kauai rental home. Step inside the expansive living area connected to the lanai and you are surrounded by large picture windows framing swaying coconuts and green mountains, you’ll know you are in a tropical paradise. The L-shaped design of the home and the huge wraparound lanai encourages relaxing and absorbing the sunshine and the gorgeous views.
More than two dozens of Bird of Paradise bushes under the coconut trees flower all year round. Snow bushes and Hibiscus show off their beauty along the borders around the house a flowering manuba next to the stairway adds its red blossoms to the scenery. Heliconia, Anthurium, white and blue Ginger, Mango, papaya, Bougainvillea, and shade trees grace the back garden.
