Beaches: The Bird of Paradise Home is midway between Shipwreck Beach, Brennecke’s beach and Poipu Beach Park. If you walk to the west from Bird of Paradise Home, you will reach Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke’ Beach. If you walk towards east, you will reach Shipwreck Beach.
Shipwreck Beach and Brennecke’s beach is great for boogie boarding and body surfing.
Poipu Beach Parkrated the best beach in the USA, is adjacent to the Brennecke’s Beach is great for snorkeling, protected swimming, and has a swim and snorkel area for children as well as a playground. Other Attractions and Activities: Spouting Horn and National Botanical Gardens, site of the old Fantasy Island show are three miles away. Koloa Landing, the launching area for scuba divers going to Sheraton Caves, is on the way to the Spouting Horn. Horseback Riding stables are a mile away on the road to Mahaulepu Beach just past Poipu Bay Golf Course; plus a whole host of Kauai Activities are available on the island.
Groceries, gasoline, etc Old Koloa Town has two supermarkets, Sueoka’s and Big Save. There is also a Texaco gas station at the cornor of the Poipu road.
