Beaches: The Bird of Paradise Home is midway between Shipwreck Beach, Brennecke’s beach and Poipu Beach Park. If you walk to the west from Bird of Paradise Home, you will reach Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke’ Beach. If you walk towards east, you will reach Shipwreck Beach.

Shipwreck Beach and Brennecke’s beach is great for boogie boarding and body surfing.
Poipu Beach Park rated the best beach in the USA, is adjacent to the Brennecke’s Beach is great for snorkeling, protected swimming, and has a swim and snorkel area for children as well as a playground. Mahaulepu Beach, Local’s favorite, beautiful and uncrowded, is three miles away.

Farmers Market on Kauai

Kauai farmers gather for an open market in different communities throughout the week.

In Koloa – Every Monday at noon: On Mondays, at noon it is in Koloa in the parking lot of the Koloa Ball Park on the way to the Tunnel of Trees.

Every Wednesday from 3:30 to 6 pm: the Kauai Culinary Market is hosted at The Shops at Kukuiula with Live island music

Other Attractions and Activities: Spouting Horn and National Botanical Gardens, site of the old Fantasy Island show are three miles away. Horseback Riding stables are a mile away on the road to Mahaulepu Beach just past Poipu Bay Golf Course; plus a whole host of Kauai Activities are available on the island.
